The Application Developer is responsible for creating and maintaining custom applications that support the operational success of OPC, GTC, and GSOC. This includes end-to-end application development, from design to deployment, and ongoing support. The role ensures application scalability, reliability, and security. The developer builds and optimizes applications using Java and JavaScript, troubleshoots issues, plans upgrades, and follows a defined software development lifecycle (SDLC).

The role also builds integrations between critical business applications and ensures security and compliance with company standards. Collaboration with various teams to gather requirements, provide technical support, document configurations and processes, and prepare reports is expected. The position offers diverse tasks and continuous learning opportunities. Specialization in a technology subset may occur based on business needs. This role requires a strong customer service focus, positive attitude, and excellent oral and written communication skills.

Compliance:
Responsible for adherence to all applicable laws, regulations, industry standards, corporate policies, guidelines and procedures, including but not limited to RUS, OSHA, SOX, NERC, FERC and ITS requirements. Promotes an environment of compliance and continuous improvement to meet the Corporation s goals and objectives.

• Application Development:
  Design, build, and optimize custom applications using Java. Ensure applications are scalable, reliable, and secure. Follow the defined SDLC.
• Troubleshooting and Enhancements/Upgrades:
  Identify and resolve application issues. Plan and implement enhancements and upgrades to improve functionality and performance.
• Application Integrations:
  Develop integrations between critical business applications to ensure data consistency across systems and enhance operational efficiency.
• Collaboration and Support:
  Work with various teams to gather requirements and provide technical support. Offer guidance on development and integration.
• Documentation and Reporting:
  Document configurations and development processes. Prepare reports on application performance and other key metrics.
• Continuous Learning and Specialization:
  Stay updated with emerging technologies and best practices. Specialize in a technology subset based on business needs.

Education
:
Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field from an accredited college or university.

  • Experience:
    
    Minimum of 4 years in application development, conducting assessments, and troubleshooting.
  • Equivalent
    
    Experience:
    
    Minimum of 8 years may be considered.
  • Responsibility:
    Independently manages development, enhancements/upgrades, and troubleshooting. Begins to lead small projects and coordinates with other teams for seamless integration.
• Application Developer IV
  • Experience:
    
    Minimum of 6 years in application development, assessments, and troubleshooting.
  • Equivalent
    
    Experience:
    
    Minimum of 10 years may be considered.
  • Responsibility:
    Leads projects for design, build, and optimization of custom applications; provides technical support across IT.
• Application Developer V
  • Experience:
    
    Minimum of 8 years in architecting/managing development, assessments, and troubleshooting.
  • Equivalent
    
    Experience:
    
    Minimum of 12 years may be considered.
  • Responsibility:
    Oversees major projects and provides expert technical support across IT.

Licenses, Certifications, and/or Registrations
