Department InformationOur mission in the Department of Juvenile Justice Health Services is to transform young lives by providing evidence-based rehabilitative treatment services and supervision, strengthening the well-being of youth and families, and fostering safe communities. Each youth will receive appropriate, individualized care to improve their health knowledge and their potential for wellness.
Responsibilities- Under the general direction of the Lead Nurse, responsible for the delivery of patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Guide patient teaching, nursing activities, and ancillary personnel.
- Promote a customer-friendly environment and provide superior service to youth, facility staff, family, and outside vendors.
- Licensed as an RN in the State of Georgia.
- 1 year of previous experience in a clinical setting.
- Good organizational and decision-making skills; good physical and mental health; able to work under pressure; must relate well to patients, security staff, visitors, and co-workers.
- Functions within the Georgia Board of Nursing Nurse Practice Act.
- Must have current Health Care Provider BCLS Certification, obtained through American Heart or Red Cross Program.
- Must be able to lift 50lbs, bend, reach, stoop normally; stand and sit for long periods; move quickly in emergencies (within 4 minutes); normal hearing and seeing with or without corrective appliances; perform BCLS.
- Security Clearance by the Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice.
