Overview
36 Bed Adult, Medical-Surgical Oncology Unit at Navicent Health Medical Center. The unit is dedicated to providing cancer treatment and compassionate support to patients at every stage of their journey.
Position OverviewAs an Oncology RN, you will provide direct patient care, administer chemotherapy and other treatments, monitor patient progress, educate patients and families, and collaborate with the oncology care team. You will help ensure patients receive personalized, compassionate care in a supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities- Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and other oncology treatments as prescribed by the oncologist.
- Monitor patient conditions, including vital signs, lab results, and side effects of treatments.
- Assess and document patient symptoms, responses to treatment, and overall health status.
- Provide education and emotional support to patients and families regarding cancer treatment plans, side effects, and care at home.
- Collaborate with oncologists, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Ensure safe administration of medications and treatments, following protocols and safety guidelines.
- Assist with procedures such as port access, blood draws, and IV insertion.
- Advocate for patient needs and provide a high level of compassionate care.
- Participate in patient care conferences and interdisciplinary team meetings.
- Stay current with oncology nursing best practices, protocols, and continuing education.
- Current RN license in the state of Georgia.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and patient advocacy skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Pay Range
$34.90 - $52.35
