Labor Finders is seeking an experienced Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) for a full-time opportunity in the Macon, GA area. This position is responsible for ensuring welded components, structures, and assemblies meet project specifications, AWS standards, and customer quality requirements.

Responsibilities- Perform visual inspections of welded components and completed assemblies.
- Verify compliance with AWS codes, project specifications, and quality standards.
- Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, welding symbols, and technical documents.
- Review Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Procedure Qualification Records (PQR), and welder qualifications.
- Coordinate with welders, supervisors, engineers, and project managers to resolve quality issues.
- Review and interpret Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) reports and findings.
- Document inspection results and maintain accurate quality records.
- Identify non-conforming welds and recommend corrective actions.
- Promote and maintain a safe work environment while ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations.
Required:
- Current AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification.
- Experience performing welding inspections in fabrication, manufacturing, or construction environments.
- Strong understanding of AWS welding codes and industry standards.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and engineering specifications.
- Knowledge of welding processes including:
- SMAW
- GMAW (MIG)
- GTAW (TIG)
- FCAW
- Familiarity with NDT methods and inspection techniques.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.
Preferred:
- 3+ years of welding inspection experience.
- Experience with structural steel, industrial, or heavy fabrication projects.
- Additional certifications related to quality control or NDT.
