HVAC Service Technician​/Start-up Technician

Overview

Premi Star is seeking an HVAC Service Technician/Start-up Technician to perform installation, maintenance, and repair of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and boiler systems. The role requires 5+ years of documented HVAC experience, a high school diploma, and strong mechanical and electrical skills.

• Perform routine repairs to pumps, seals, bearings, and other equipment.
• Inspect and test systems to verify compliance with plans, specifications, and to detect and locate malfunctions.
• Adjust system controls to manufacturer‑recommended settings and balance system performance.
• Install auxiliary components (expansion and discharge valves, ducts, blowers, dampers, flues, and stokers) following blueprints.
• Fabricate, assemble, or install duct work or chassis parts using portable metal‑working tools or welding equipment.
• Generate work orders, record faults, deficiencies, and time/materials expended on work orders.
• Coordinate with repair and maintenance teams to assist in other work.
• Assemble, position, and mount heating or cooling equipment following blueprints.
• Other duties as assigned.

High school diploma or equivalent and 5 years of documentable HVAC level operation, maintenance, and repair experience in the HVAC and refrigeration trade.

• Knowledge of HVAC repairs, maintenance, and installation techniques, electrical circuits, wiring, and operating principles of motors, and local electrical codes.
• Strong communication skills: able to interact with internal team and customers, follow written and verbal instructions, interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics, and performed diagnostic calculations.
• Physically able to operate a variety of machinery and equipment, including electronic and diagnostic tools, hand and power tools, and HVAC equipment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and up to 20 pounds frequently; skilled in stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing, and repetitive motions.

Position requires heavy lifting, frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing, crawling, reaching, and maintaining extended periods of standing or sitting. Must be able to work in varying temperature environments.

Field environment with exposure to temperature variations and outdoor work.
