Responsible for conducting and documenting engineering tests to verify and validate product performance, reliability and safety, and compliance with applicable industry standards and regulatory requirements.
PrincipalJob Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct product testing in accordance with series of standards and test protocols applicable for wheelchairs
- Interpret standard requirements and translate them into appropriate test methods and fixtures
- Develop and maintain test fixtures, test equipment, instrumentation and data acquisition systems used for product testing
- Analyze test data and evaluate results against engineering specification and acceptance criteria
- Investigate test failures and product issues using root-cause analysis
- Prepare clear and technically accurate verification and validation test reports
- Coordinate and support testing performed by external laboratories and certification agencies
- Collaborate closely with R&D to develop test procedures and test protocols.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline.
- Experience in engineering testing preferred
- Experience with measurement equipment and instrumentation preferred
- Ability to collect, analyze and interpret data
- Strong technical writing skills, including preparation of test reports
- Ability to safely operate and maintain laboratory and test equipment
