This position is accountable for providing competent nursing care for patients with common health problems. This is an entry level position responsible for coordination of the patient's plan of care through assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing interventions that lead to established outcomes. This position practices under the direction of the designated nurse executive, within the scope of the Nursing Practice Act, and in accordance with Children's policies.
The House Resource Pool (or Central Staffing) Department consists of 92 employees who care for patients across the hospital. House Resource staff work on every unit providing treatment throughout the continuum of care. The team members take a variety of core classes so they can provide optimal care to all patients. Team members get assigned to units to back-fill sick calls, leaves and to supplement during times of patient census surge.
They are a unique group of individuals who love to float in and out of units on a daily basis and sometimes to a variety of units during one shift. They are some of the most flexible people in the organization, as their role requires them to jump in and help regardless of the location of the patient. Members of the House Resource Pool bring their best knowing children and staff are counting on them.
