Job Description Overview
AtkinsR alis is seeking an experienced Electrical Inspector to support the construction supervision and quality assurance of major high-rise residential commercial hospitality mixed-use and large-scale building developments in Madinah Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting electrical installations monitoring contractor performance ensuring compliance with approved drawings and specifications and supporting testing commissioning and project handover activities.
Your role- Conduct inspections of electrical works to ensure compliance with approved drawings, project specifications, contract requirements and applicable codes and standards.
- Review contractor Inspection Requests IRs and conduct inspections in accordance with approved Inspection & Test Plans ITPs.
- Verify that electrical materials and equipment installed on site are approved and comply with project requirements.
- Monitor construction quality and identify defects, deficiencies and non-conforming works.
- Verify implementation and closure of corrective actions related to quality observations and NCRs.
- Review contractor method statements and quality control procedures for electrical works.
- Inspect electrical containment systems including cable trays, conduits, trunking and support systems.
- Verify installation of switch gear, transformers, distribution boards, lighting fixtures and ELV systems.
- Coordinate with Mechanical, Architectural, Structural and QA QC teams to ensure multidisciplinary compliance.
- Maintain accurate inspection reports, punch lists, testing records and quality documentation.
- Monitor contractor progress and provide updates on inspection status and quality performance.
- Ensure compliance with project HSE requirements during electrical installation and testing activities.
- Participate in site audits, quality reviews, progress meetings and coordination workshops.
- Support snagging, de-snagging, testing, commissioning and project handover activities.
- Review as-built drawings, operation & maintenance manuals and commissioning records.
- Assist senior engineers in resolving technical issues and site-related construction challenges.
- Ensure all electrical works are completed in accordance with approved quality procedures and project standards.
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Certification in Electrical Inspection, Quality Control, or Building Services is preferred.
- Registration with the Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) is an advantage.
- NICET, City & Guilds, or similar technical certifications are desirable.
- Knowledge of testing and commissioning procedures for electrical systems is preferred.
- 5 to 10 years of professional experience in electrical inspection and construction supervision.
- Minimum 3 years of experience on high-rise and major building construction projects.
- Previous Saudi Arabia or GCC experience is highly preferred.
- Experience working with consultants, PMCs, contractors, and developers.
- Experience in construction, testing, commissioning, and project handover activities.
- Ability to interpret electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, shop drawings, specifications, and technical submittals.
- Familiarity with inspection procedures, electrical testing protocols, and construction quality standards.
