Seeking a dedicated professional to be the backbone of our North American finance function. Overseeing our US and Canada operations, the role will include the following responsibilities:
Daily & weekly
- Daily transactional responsibilities, including processing vendor invoices, raising sales invoices, matching bank receipts, updating operational schedules for invoicing status of projects and maintaining bank reconciliations
- AR management, monitoring the debtors ledger and chasing payments, resolving customer invoicing queries, dealing with customer exemption certificates, and customer onboarding including credit checks
- Support Quick Books inventory control including BOMs, pricing and inventory movements
- Management of the accounting email inbox, dealing with customer, supplier and colleague queries in a timely manner
- Quick Books management, including supplier set‑ups and template management
- Reconciliation of credit card and staff expenses, ensuring relevant approvals are received and expenditure is accurately allocated to GL codes and cost centers
- AP management, including initiating payment runs, sending remittances to suppliers, resolving supplier invoicing queries
- Inventory accounting management, liaising with purchasing and operations to resolve inventory issues, inventory item set‑up, review of inventory carrying amount and freight costs
- Liaising with operations to own inventory quantity and valuation accuracy, improving operational processes to maintain accuracy
- Ownership of sales tax and income tax processes, liaising with our external advisors
Monthly
- Assisting the UK-based team with the month‑end process, including accruals and prepayments, depreciation journals, inter‑company reconciliations, goods‑in‑transit, revenue recognition and balance‑sheet reconciliation
- Supporting the Management Accountant with variance commentary, utilizing your detailed awareness of transactions during the month
- Identifying savings and cost efficiencies across the business
Annually
- Assisting with the year‑end processes, including auditor, tax and accounts queries
- Ownership of company compliance across business registration, taxation and regulatory filings
Qualifications
- Qualified accountant/CPA or equivalent
- 3+ years of accounting experience, ideally working in the manufacturing sector
- Exceptional knowledge of Intuit Quick Books Desktop and Quick Books Inventory Management, capable of supporting the wider business with niche & complex Quick Books queries and utilizing Quick Books efficiencies and additional plug‑ins
- Must be organised, proactive, process‑driven and able to manage multiple priorities
- Experienced with and embraces cloud‑based automation software such as Epicor (our upcoming ERP system), Xero, Dext, Avalara and Smart Sheets
