Position: Construction Estimator for BarrierFree Home Modification Co

CAPS Remodeling is a family-owned specialized remodeling company that has been the leader in our industry for 18+ years. We are driven by our commitment to improving the lives of people with mobility issues by enhancing the accessibility of their homes.

We specialize in barrier-free home modifications and the installation of top-quality assistive medical devices. We're looking for an experienced Estimator to join our team. Our ideal candidate is a team player who possesses strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills, a deep understanding of construction projects/costs, has the strong ability to close deals and manage ongoing complex construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Preparing comprehensive, accurate, detailed cost estimates for projects.
  • Evaluating and quantifying materials, labor, equipment costs, subcontractor quotations while ensuring profit margins are met.
  • Discussing proposals, requirements, and contract specifics to customers.
  • Conducting site visits independently or with a team of medical professionals to gather all necessary data for a quote.
  • Preparing and maintaining a directory of existing suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors and the ability to recruit new vendors and subcontractors.
  • Negotiating with vendors and contractors to obtain the most cost-effective bids.
  • Keeping up-to-date records of all estimation documentation.
  • Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a Construction Estimator with at least 5 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Familiarity with medical equipment installation and handicap accessibility.
  • Proficiency in Xactimate or a similar software.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Outstanding negotiation and communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Familiarity with ADA guidelines.
  • Detail oriented and highly organized.
  • Excellent problem-solving capabilities and ability to come up with creative solutions.
  • Knowledge of construction processes, materials, and legal regulations.
