Dietitian-Bariatric Services- 16 hours/week

Madison Heights, MI

Responsibilities include:

• Provide medical nutrition therapy and evaluate effectiveness of treatments.
• Assess patients for nutritional status and provide interventions/treatments including diet therapy, counseling, or specialized nutrition supplements.
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing, and ancillary services such as speech pathology or physical therapy.
• Monitor tolerance and effectiveness of nutritional regimen and recommend therapy adjustments as necessary.
• Provide nutrition information for the community that may include public speaking, news releases, and other forms of publications.
• Research and take initiatives to resolve nutrition care-related complaints and problems.
• Assist in monitoring meals including intake, diet compliance, and tray accuracy.
• Maintain sanitation of food preparation area(s) through planned and unannounced inspections.

Certifications/Licenses

Required:

• Dietitian/Nutritionist credentialed from the Commission on Dietetic Registration obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• BLS Provider preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Educator specializing in Diabetes Management preferred.

Education/Experience

Required:

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience required.
• Bariatric experience preferred.
