Respiratory Therapist Specialist - Madison Hospital Pulmonary - PRN - 1st Shift

This position involves patient care in critical care areas, step-down units, and general care areas.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

Required:

• Education: HS/GED required. Must be licensed by the ASBRT and credentialed by the NBRC. Certified Respiratory Therapist minimum;
  Registered Respiratory Therapist preferred. Certification in PALS and ACLS preferred; these are mandatory within one year. BLS certification is preferred for hiring processes and mandatory after orientation.
• Experience: Clinical experience gained during respiratory program training, capable of functioning in critical settings including initiation and support of mechanical ventilation. Additional experience in intubation and transport is preferred.
• Additional Skills/Abilities: Excellent communication skills are required, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing and adjusting tasks quickly. Ability to perform and recommend procedures in EKG, Bronchial Hygiene, Oxygen Therapy, Respiratory Diagnostic Procedures, and all levels of Mechanical Ventilation. Weekend and/or holiday rotations may be required.
