Overview

Together Women’s Health and North Alabama OBGYN Associates are seeking a full-time Triage/Phone Medical Assistant (MA) to join their growing medical team. The Medical Assistant embraces a strong commitment to providing an exceptional patient experience with every interaction. The Triage/Phone Medical Assistant acts as the primary point of contact for patients by managing a high volume of inbound and outbound calls to address symptoms, answer questions about visits, and relay lab results and provider instructions with accuracy and empathy.

Only applicants with Labor & Delivery or OB/GYN experience will be considered.

• Exceptional organization and ability to triage patient concerns over the phone, ensuring they receive the appropriate level of care.
• Seamlessly pivot to traditional hands-on MA duties like patient intake, obtaining vitals, and rooming patients for providers.
• Perform fetal stress tests and administer same-day injections for walk-in patients.
• Communicate with patients and office coordinators about follow-up appointments, ancillary and/or pre-operative testing, and scheduling needed for the patient.
• Coordinate ordering of tests/procedures with other clinical staff.

• Experience in a medical office setting and/or graduation from a certified Medical Assistant program is required.
• Certified Medical Assistant with Labor & Delivery or OB/GYN experience required.
• Experience with EMR system(s) and medical terminology is required.
