Sr. Director of Business Operations at Alchemy Global NetworksAlchemy Global Networks is in search of a Network Engineer/ BGP & JUNOS (Juniper router OS) expert to play a key role within our Managed Services organization. This selected consultant will work closely with our customers to understand business and technical requirements and translate those requirements into solutions that meet and exceed their expectations. The successful candidate will be an innately curious technologist who has a passion for learning and maintaining customer satisfaction.
Deep expertise with BGP, MPLS, OSPF, routing, switching, firewalls, JUNOS (Juniper router OS) and IPSec VPN with an eye toward security are some of the requirements we need in the right person.
As a professional consultant, the ability to leverage your technical expertise and exercise interpersonal skills to become a trusted advisor who can keep projects and tasks moving forward is a must.
LocationExisting team is located in Madison, Alabama
, so we prefer you to be located locally as travel is required to meet with the team. Travel may also be required to customers across the country on occasion.
- The Managed Services Engineer works to maximize quality output and achieve high customer satisfaction in the delivery of managed IT services.
- The Managed Services Engineer is a member of a team that encompasses Senior Managed Services Engineering, Service Delivery Coordination and Customer Success Management.
- Working to efficiently resolve issues with a high level of accuracy, the Managed Services Engineer performs a wide range of technical computing and information systems support, including installations, repairs, and preventative maintenance on networking devices, and infrastructure services such as Routing and Switching, Firewalls, and wireless technologies.
- The Managed Services Engineer diagnoses mechanical, hardware, software, and system failures using established procedures.
- Identify and recommend enhancements to the infrastructure that will improve the quality, performance, security and reliability of the network.
- Assist in designing and planning network infrastructure.
- Take ownership of issues and carry them to complete resolution
- Extensive expertise with BGP, OSPF, MPLS, routing, switching, firewalls, IPSec VPN.
- Expertise with JUNOS (Juniper router OS), Palo Alto Networks and/or Cisco Systems network equipment.
- Experience with a programming or scripting language.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with ability to effectively communicate complex technical information to customers, team members, and company employees across the organization.
- Consistent application of business etiquette in all communication, including face-to-face, email, and phone interactions with customer end users, stakeholders, and team members.
- Effective management of tasks and follow-through on issues impacting task completion, including appropriate escalation of unresolved issues and persistence to ensure resolution and customer satisfaction.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver on tough IT projects across multiple organizations.
- Information Technology experience with system administration, upgrading, and maintenance in a medium to large infrastructure environment, including Service Provider, Data Center, and Enterprise networks.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs. (Network Hardware)
Existing team is located in Alabama, so travel is required on occasion to meet with the team as well as customers across the country. No more than 25% travel.
- Based on customer and company needs, work after hours and on weekends for scheduled projects and in emergency situations may be required.
- Participate in regular after hours on-call rotation schedule.
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Experience with diverse network and security product vendors.
- IPv4 and IPv6 experience.
