Position: Certified Welder / Fabricator

Position Summary

Titomic, a global leader in Cold Spray Additive Manufacturing and Kinetic Fusion™ technology, is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Certified Welder / Fabricator with experience in the defense and/or aerospace sectors to join our innovative team. This hands‑on role, based on the factory floor in a highly collaborative environment, involves welding and fabricating steel, stainless steel, and aluminum components to precise specifications using advanced welding techniques.

The ideal candidate will hold recognized welding certifications (e.g., AWS, ASME, or CWI) and demonstrate a strong commitment to quality, safety, and customer satisfaction in a fast‑paced manufacturing setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, weld symbols, and specifications to determine project requirements.
  • Cut, shape, and prepare metal materials (steel, stainless, aluminum) using tools such as saws, torches, grinders, and shears.
  • Set up and operate welding equipment (MIG, TIG, Stick, FCAW, SMAW) to perform welds in various positions (2G-4G) per code and design standards.
  • Conduct joint preparation, fit‑up, alignment, and tack welds prior to final welding.
  • Inspect welds for quality, structural integrity, and compliance with specifications, repairing or reworking as needed.
  • Collaborate with customers to understand project needs, provide technical expertise, and ensure exceptional customer service throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Comfortable performing hands‑on work on the factory floor, operating and maintaining welding and fabrication equipment in a dynamic production environment.
  • Maintain welding equipment and perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure optimal performance.
  • Manage inventory of welding consumables, materials, and tooling.
  • Work closely with engineers, supervisors, and team members to resolve technical issues and ensure project success.
  • Adhere to safety, environmental, and quality standards (OSHA, ISO 9001, AS9100, and company policies), maintaining a clean and safe workspace.
  • Apply lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED);
    Trade School Certification is a plus but not required.
  • 10+ years of experience in welding and fabrication, preferably in defense or aerospace industries.
  • Current welding certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Welder, ASME, or equivalent per company standards).
  • Proficiency in MIG, TIG, Stick (SMAW), and/or FCAW welding techniques.
  • Strong understanding of weld symbols, joint design, metallurgy, and fabrication techniques.
  • Ability to use measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, tape measures, gauges) for precise work.
  • Physical ability to lift heavy materials, stand for extended periods, bend, stoop, and perform hands‑on tasks.
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills, attention to detail, and a strong analytical mindset.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with a focus on customer collaboration.
  • Commitment to safety‑conscious practices and maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Additional certifications (e.g., Certified Welding Inspector, API codes).
  • Experience with nondestructive testing (NDT – MT, PT, RT).
  • Background in materials science and/or experience working in a metrology lab.
  • Expertise in layout, fit‑up, and fabrication of complex assemblies.
  • Familiarity with Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS).
  • Experience in high‑demand or project‑based environments, particularly in aerospace or defense.
Security Requirements
  • U.S. citizenship without dual citizenship is required.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance.
