Freight/Receiving role at The Home Depot
. Position purpose:
Associates in Freight/Receiving ensure the store is stocked and ready for business every day. They load and unload trucks, move material from the receiving area throughout the store, may operate forklifts, and may perform critical functions for maintaining proper on-hands and pricing for our customers. Direct customer interaction is frequently required for some positions and excellent customer service skills are required.

The Freight/Receiving positions may include Freight Team Associate, Freight Team Lead, Receiving Associate and Receiving Support.

• Load and unload trucks and move merchandise to appropriate locations within the store.
• Move material from the receiving area throughout the store as needed.
• Operate forklifts as required and ensure proper on-hands and pricing for customers.
• Provide direct customer service when required, assisting customers and associates as needed.
• Support various roles within Freight/Receiving, including Freight Team Associate, Freight Team Lead, Receiving Associate and Receiving Support.

• Customer service orientation and ability to interact with customers in a professional manner.
• Ability to load/unload merchandise and operate related equipment as needed.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and collaborate with store teams.
