We are currently looking for determined candidates to fill either an entry level or certified diesel/trailer technician position in our maintenance shop. The position is responsible for maintenance and repairs of tractors and trailers. This is a genuine opportunity for an aspiring or experienced technician to hone their skills in a fleet that is unique to industry.
ScheduleMonday-Friday, 1st Shift.
Job Duties And ResponsibilitiesTractors
- Conduct routine maintenance and inspections on diesel engines, including oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid level checks.
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using diagnostic tools and computer software.
- Carry out scheduled and unscheduled repairs, ensuring minimal downtime for our fleet.
- Use MCK's tools and technologies to log, research and complete repairs, including basic vehicle diagnostics.
- Keep accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed.
- Collaborate with other members of the maintenance team to prioritize and complete assigned tasks in a timely manner.
- Comply with all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
- Keep work area clean and safe.
- Learn new skills through MCK's technician training or other approved courses.
- Work on other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor.
Trailers
- Experience with fabrication and building specialized platforms for cargo management.
- Welding and fabrication certifications preferred.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair trailer bodies, systems, and components.
- Perform preventative maintenance measures on trailers.
- Maintain hubs and axles and adjust or replace them when required.
- Inspect, service, and replace trailer parts, including tires.
- Check and repair the brake, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Test all systems and equipment for performance issues.
- Ensure that trailers meet the U.S. Department of Transportation's road safety requirements.
- Compile inspection reports, document repairs, and report all findings to management.
- Reading and writing.
- Technical training in related fields.
- Ability to learn basic mechanical tasks.
- Expertise in welding preferred but not required.
- ASE certification preferred but not required.
- Ability to learn basic mechanical tasks.
- CDL-A preferred but not required.
- Based on Experience and Qualifications.
