Responsibilities
The paramedic works under the direction of the EMS Medical Director or ER Attending Physician and is responsible for providing 911 emergency medical care and non-emergency medical care for the population served in Jefferson County, IN and surrounding counties. Duties include emergency medical care of acute 911 medical and trauma patients, stabilization of care, treatment and transport to appropriate facilities. Also, transport of critical and non-critical patients from hospital facilities to other healthcare facilities.
This role requires driving Norton Healthcare vehicles, which could include transporting patients and visitors. You must have a valid driver's license and maintain an acceptable driving record.
QualificationsRequired:
- Two years EMT
- Valid Driver's License
- Kentucky or Indiana EMT-Paramedic (State) license at time of hire.
- Must obtain additional EMT-Paramedic (State) license, KY or IN, within six months of hire.
