Travel Polysomnographer​/Sleep Technologist - Polysomnography

American Traveler is hiring a Polysomnographic Technologist with at least 1 year of sleep medicine experience for a night shift position in a hospital sleep lab.

• Minimum of 1 year experience in a sleep medicine setting
• Current BLS certification required
• One of the following credentials required: RPGST, RST, or SDS Certification
• License required if applicable
• ACLS certification preferred
• Proficiency in patient monitoring, sleep studies, and CPAP/BiPAP therapy
• Ability to exercise independent judgment with minimal supervision

• Hospital-based sleep lab setting
• Night shift schedule from 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM, 3 days per week
• Weekend shifts required per unit needs
• 36 hours per week on a 12-hour shift schedule
• Perform routine and complex polysomnographic recordings and interpret monitoring equipment parameters
• Educate patients on sleep studies, sleep apnea, and CPAP titration procedures
• Connect and disconnect patients from electrodes and assist with related paperwork
• Monitor patients throughout sleep studies and respond according to department policy
• Administer CPAP/BiPAP therapy in accordance with department procedures
• Follow department and hospital-wide policies while providing quality patient care
• Work collaboratively with the team while demonstrating strong independent judgment
