Retail & Store Manager, Operations Manager
Professional sales position responsible for profitable growth of the commercial business through customer retention and expansion. The role partners with the GM to manage and coach team members, while drawing on expert automotive system and parts knowledge to source and direct delivery operations.
Primary Responsibilities- Maintain commercial customer relationships
- Provide GAS2 selling experience to commercial customers
- Achieve personal/store sales goals and service objectives
- Provide day‑to‑day supervisory support for team members
- Collaborate with the GM on coaching and developmental needs for team members
- Dispatch drivers ensuring delivery standards are met
- Maintain commercial stocking programs
- Build and maintain a network of second‑source suppliers
- Maintain core bank and commercial returns
- Maintain commercial credit accounts
- Partner with the GM to ensure proper driver coverage
- Friendly communication
- Ability to locate and stock parts
- Safety knowledge and skills
- Operating inventory systems and store equipment
- Parts and automotive system knowledge skills
- Operating POS and parts lookup systems
- ASE P2 certified or ASE‑ready equivalent
- Advanced solution, project and product quality recommendation ability
- Advanced selling skills for commercial customers
- Ability to multi‑task and remain organized
Job Skills
- Working knowledge of automotive systems and diagnostic ability (engine, suspension, brakes, electronics, exhaust, etc.)
- Speak and write English (Spanish a plus)
- Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, parts catalogs, and procedure manuals
- Understand and execute written, oral, or diagram instructions
- Successfully complete the Parts Knowledge Assessment
- Use basic math accurately (add, subtract, multiply, divide)
- Use Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) effectively
- Strong organizational skills
- Understand commercial profitability concepts, including competition, market opportunities, and customer prioritization
- Work various days, evenings, and weekends as needed
- Minimum 3 years of automotive parts experience preferred
- Proven sales ability with experience in fulfillment of customer transactions
- Formal or informal experience leading teams, supervising daily tasks, and achieving goals together
High school diploma or GED required.
Certificates, Licenses, RegistrationsASE certification preferred but not required.
Physical DemandsPredominantly walking or standing; ability to talk, hear, and use hands; fit to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs occasionally. Requires close, distance, color, and depth vision, and ability to adjust focus.
Work EnvironmentPrimarily inside, occasionally outside exposed to weather; may encounter moving parts, high or precarious places, chemicals, electrical shock, explosives, and vibration. Noise level is usually moderate.
Position is eligible for sales commission based on individual or store performance.
