Salary Range Starting At: $9.25 / per hour
Job Description:
As the driver/donation receiver you will pick up donations, deliver items donated to thrift store, help sort items, place items out on the thrift store floor, clean up, and ensure that the Mission of The Salvation Army is effectively carried out.
What You Will Do:
- Sort, display and store donated items.
- Help to keep the storage and receiving areas clean and orderly. Empty garage and sweeping floors as needed.
- Pick up donated items, as manager directs. Keep truck clean and report any needed maintenance.
- Help Customers and donors when needed.
- Other tasks as assigned by leadership
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Background Checks:
Position requires a background check to be completed, and all background check results will be reviewed.
Experience:
Experience in driving a trucker preferred
Certifications:
Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain The Salvation Army Driver’s qualification standard; must complete Safe From Harm training within the first 90 days of employment.
Skills/Abilities:
- Able to speak, write and understand English in a manner sufficient for effective communication with leadership, field personnel, and clientele.
- Must be organized and able to follow directions
- Must be able to be respectful with customers, co-workers, and manager

Physical Requirements Include:
- Good speaking, hearing and vision ability, and excellent manual dexterity
- Lifting, pulling, and pushing of materials up to 25 pounds
- May require bending, squatting, walking.

Travel: Position may require travel to get some tasks done
Working Conditions: Work is performed in a typical thrift environment; may work some weekends.
