The Opportunity:Construction Inspector
We are seeking a motivated Construction Inspector with a background in civil engineering or land development to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys problem‑solving on‑site, thrives in a collaborative environment, and is passionate about ensuring project success through quality and precision.
What You’ll DoAs a Construction Inspector at IFS, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring project quality, safety, and compliance. Your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting site inspections to verify adherence to project plans, specifications, and codes
- Evaluating materials and workmanship, including field testing and sample collection
- Preparing detailed inspection reports and documentation
- Leading weekly site meetings and maintaining communication between clients, contractors, and project teams
- Reviewing project drawings and specifications to anticipate and address potential issues
- Supporting both private sector and federal projects—including VA Medical Centers and National Cemeteries
This role may require travel and short‑term relocation across the U.S. Per diem and travel support provided.
Who You Are- Experienced construction professional or civil engineering technician
- Strong communicator with an eye for detail and a proactive mindset
- Organized, dependable, and solution‑oriented
- Comfortable working on‑site and traveling as needed
Required:
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Prior experience in commercial or residential construction
- Ability to communicate effectively with both owners and contractors
- Willingness to accept temporary assignments (6–18 months)
- Attention to detail
- 5+ years of relevant professional experience a plus
- Previous work on government or federally funded projects
- Competitive salary: $62,400 – $83,200 (commensurate with experience)
