Student Pastor

Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Alexandria, AL is prayerfully seeking a Full-Time Student Pastor to lead and grow our middle school and high school ministry. This pastor will have the opportunity to invest in a thriving and active student ministry of 80–100 students in grades 6–12, helping students grow in their faith and develop a lifelong relationship with Jesus Christ.

Position Overview The Student Pastor will provide spiritual leadership, vision, and direction for all aspects of student ministry, while partnering closely with parents, volunteers, and church leadership to disciple students and families.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, disciple, and pastor students in grades 6–12
• Plan and lead weekly student worship gatherings, small groups, events, and retreats
• Develop and communicate a clear vision and strategy for student ministry
• Recruit, train, and oversee a team of paid staff and volunteers
• Build strong, intentional relationships with students and their families
• Partner with parents to support spiritual formation in the home
• Coordinate and support student outreach, missions, and service opportunities
• Collaborate with church staff to support the overall mission and vision of Mt. Zion Baptist Church

• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• Ability to lead teams, equip volunteers, and work collaboratively with staff
• Experience with larger student ministries
• Alignment with the beliefs and mission of Mt. Zion Baptist Church

The primary responsibility of the Lead Adult Groups Pastor is to provide spiritual, visionary, team-based, value-driven leadership to mobilize the people of Pinelake Church into Biblical community in a manner consistent with the purpose, vision, and core values as expressed in the Strategic Ministry Plan.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Works in coordination with the overall goals and objectives of Pinelake Church.
• Assists the Campus Pastor to work toward excellence in all areas of the ministry.
• Basic personal responsibilities:
  • Maintain a vital and growing personal walk with the Lord through committed Bible study, prayer, meditation and practicing L3.
  • Maintain proper priorities in your home including your spouse and children (if married and/or with children).
  • Faithfully support the ministries of Pinelake by maintaining wise stewardship measures over the resources entrusted to you.
  • Maintain active participation in community.
  • Reflect a growing awareness and practice of personal Emotional Healthy Spirituality.
  • Perform duties and responsibilities in a manner to glorify Christ and further the mission and ministry purposes of Pinelake Church (Colossians 3:23‑24).

SPECIFIC LIST OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide leadership and oversight over our groups team by leading our Associate Groups Minister and Department Administrative Assistant.
• Pursue small group leadership contacts weekly for the purposes of shepherding, vision casting, and organizational health.
• Lead the small group leadership culture by developing and leading a team of directors, coaches, and small group leaders.
• Recruit potential and new small group leadership for multiplication of groups.
• Strategically pursue couples and individuals for group connection.
• Servant leaders developed and deployed for ministry ownership.
• Address church needs through variety of new equipping groups.
• Develop and deploy servant leader teaching team for equipping groups.
• Train leaders to lead their groups and disciple individuals within their groups.
• In conjunction with the Adult Groups team, help execute groups events including but not limited to:
  Group Launch, Leader Huddles, Men's and Women's Specific opportunities and Equip Classes.
