Position: Engineering Co-Op - Spring 2025

The Parker Fluid Control Division, located in Madison, MS, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Co-op to join the team. This paid opportunity can be full-time (40 hours/week) or part-time (20 hours/week), starting in January 2025 for 3 months, with an option to extend into summer. Work hours will include a mix of 1st and 2nd shifts (typically 7am–3:30pm and 1pm–9:30pm), flexible to student schedules.

Responsibilities
  • Design fixtures using 3D modelling in AutoCAD Inventor and create detailed drawings.
  • Procure hardware and collaborate with machinists to fabricate fixtures.
  • Create standard work procedures and visual aids.
  • Learn troubleshooting methods for fixturing and valve test equipment.
  • Print designed fixtures on 3D printers.
Qualifications

Motivated, detail-oriented current engineering student, preferably Junior or Senior. Coursework or experience in machine design, structures, mechanics, fluids, or electromechanical devices is preferred. Must be mechanically inclined, experienced with tools and measurement devices, and capable of managing multiple projects. Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills are required. Experience in lean practices is a plus.

Skill Sets / Attributes
  • Familiarity with CAD software like Inventor and blueprint reading.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Understanding of machining operations.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Experience troubleshooting mechanical/electrical issues.
  • Demonstrated persistence and drive to complete tasks.
