About the PositionThis is a time limited position. The Public Health Statistics Research Data Analyst Team Lead is responsible for
- Supervising, mentoring, and supporting a team of data analysts and epidemiologists
- Managing collection, analysis, and timely delivery of data products and reports related to records of vital events, surveillance, and statewide population
- Designing and conducting complex statistical analysis and leading data validation and visualization processes
- Supporting programs, evaluation, surveillance, and research initiatives through quantitative and qualitative analysis
- Assuring compliance with HIPAA, FERPA, and PHAB standards
- Translating complex data and findings for presentation to internal and external stakeholders
- Supporting grant applications and reporting by providing accurate and relevant data analysis
- Other duties as assigned
- Understanding of vital events, population mortality/fertility rates, and health data standards
- Advanced data analysis and interpretation using tools such as SAS, R, Python, and SQL
- Experience with Excel, Power BI, or Tableau
- Proficiency in GIS and geospatial analysis skills
- Knowledge of data governance and ethics
- Team management, communication, and critical thinking

Preferred QualificationsTypically requires a bachelor's degree and 5-7 years of experience.
