The local shuttle driver will be responsible for executing local deliveries within a 50-mile radius with a 26ft box truck with the utmost care, professionalism, and accuracy.

- Operate 26' box truck safely and in compliance with all traffic laws and the Department of Transportation
- Accurately and efficiently load and unload cargo, often using a manual or powered pallet jack
- Backs truck to customer dock
- Maintain compliance with Federal and State safety regulations and safe, professional driving behavior
- Communicate with customer representatives in a pleasant, respectful, and efficient manner
- Coordinate with dispatchers
- Comply with all DOT requirements including drug and alcohol testing (subject to random and reasonable‑suspicion testing)
- Secure cargo and properly arrange and balance it within the vehicle
- Ensure that any mechanical issues with the vehicle are corrected before driving
- Perform other duties as required
- CDL A License required
- A minimum of 2 years CDL A driving experience within the last 4 years (3+ years preferred)
- Meet DOT qualification requirements, FMCSR 391.41
- Experience in load securement, route planning, and navigating various road conditions
- Exceptional customer service skills and the ability to handle sensitive cargo with care
- Detail‑oriented mindset required
- Must have a TWIC or be eligible to obtain a TWIC card within 90 days, if required
The role requires extended periods of sitting while operating a commercial vehicle and the use of hands and fingers to operate steering wheels, controls, GPS devices, and other onboard equipment. It also requires the ability to reach with hands and arms, climb in and out of the cab and trailer, and occasionally stoop, kneel, bend, or crouch during inspections, coupling/uncoupling, or loading/unloading activities.
Vision requirements include the ability to see at a distance for safe driving, as well as close vision for reading documents, using electronic logs, and performing inspections.
- Frequently carry, push, or pull freight weighing 1–125 lbs
- Lifts up to 50 lbs
- Frequently reach for freight at waist level and occasionally above shoulder height or below waist level
- Shift manual transmission and operate foot pedals (not applicable on all trucks)
- Frequently squat or crouch to handle and position freight
- Climb in and out of the truck 4–6 feet, 8–10 times daily with assistance of various steps and handholds; occasionally bending, twisting, climbing, squatting, crouching and balancing
- Conduct pre‑trip inspection
- Fuel vehicles and check engine oil/coolant levels, perform preventative maintenance
