Assistant Teacher/ Classroom Support Staff
Join the F.M. Kirby Children’s Center of the Madison Area YMCA as an Assistant Teacher or Classroom Support Staff. You’ll play a vital part in creating a safe, fun, and stimulating environment where children thrive physically, socially, and emotionally.
Responsibilities- Assist across multiple age groups (infants, toddlers, preschool).
- Help implement curriculum and supervise activities.
- Engage children with care and creativity.

- Experience in early childhood education or related childcare (preferred, not required)
- Must be 18 years or older
- Reliable, dependable, and flexible
- Ability to obtain CPR & First Aid certification within 30 days of hire (training provided!)
- CDA or at least 9 ECE credits (not required)
- Bilingual skills a plus!
- Ability to walk, stand, sit on the floor, bend, kneel, and lean for extended periods
- Must be able to lift and/or assist children up to 50 pounds
- Comfortable working outdoors in a variety of temperatures
- Ability to communicate effectively and respond swiftly in emergencies
- Potential exposure to communicable diseases and bodily fluids
- Competitive Pay: $17-$20 hourly
- Daily Pay:

This includes attending required training, reporting suspicious or inappropriate behaviors, and adhering to procedures that minimize risk. Supervisors are also responsible for providing oversight, feedback, and accountability to ensure staff and volunteers follow these standards.
