Job Summary
The Gregory H. Olsen College of Engineering and Science at Fairleigh Dickinson University, Florham Campus, seeks an adjunct professor to teach laboratory courses in the fields of general chemistry, organic chemistry, and/or the health sciences. The laboratory instructor will guide students through the performance of weekly pre-designed in‑person laboratory experiments in the respective discipline and evaluate student notebooks and laboratory reports.
ResponsibilitiesMaintain and supervise a safe laboratory environment, ensuring chemicals and glassware are handled correctly, personal protective equipment is worn, and waste is cleaned up and stored properly.
Required QualificationsApplicants must hold a Master’s degree or higher in chemistry or a closely related field and possess teaching experience. Industrial experience is also welcome. Candidates should submit a cover letter and curriculum vitae/resume.
Salary & BenefitsSalary: $900.–$1,000. Per contact hour. Benefits include eligibility to contribute to a 403(b) plan, various fringe benefits (discounts on everyday goods and services, entertainment/dining discounts, etc.), and state benefits such as NJ Sick Leave and Short‑Term Disability.
