Position: Project Manager - Environmental LSRP (Licensed Site Remediation Professional)

Overview

Project Manager – Environmental LSRP (Licensed Site Remediation Professional) role s is not an IT, software, or Agile/Scrum-based project management role. We are seeking candidates with direct environmental professional experience managing environmental remediation projects under New Jersey LSRP regulations.

Position Summary

BEM has an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager – Environmental LSRP with 8 to 12 years of industry experience to lead and manage client success and site remediation projects throughout New Jersey. The ideal candidate will be a Licensed Site Remediation Professional (LSRP) with proven experience managing environmental projects in accordance with NJDEP regulations. This role involves client management, technical oversight, regulatory coordination, staff management, and project team leadership from investigation through site closure.

The candidate must have strong technical writing skills and the ability to execute projects and provide exceptional client service.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and oversee all phases of site remediation projects in compliance with the New Jersey Site Remediation Reform Act (SRRA) and NJDEP regulations.
  • Serve as LSRP of record on certain sites, providing professional certification, guidance, and decision-making on environmental remediation projects.
  • Coordinate and lead project teams, including engineers, scientists, geologists, and subcontractors.
  • Develop and manage project scopes, budgets, schedules, and deliverables.
  • Prepare and review environmental reports including PA, SI, RIWP, RAW, RAO, DN, CEA, BN, and other NJDEP-required documents.
  • Maintain clear communication with clients, regulators (e.g., NJDEP), and internal stakeholders.
  • Experience working for state and municipal agencies is a plus but not required.
  • Ensure timely submission of regulatory documents and compliance with statutory deadlines.
  • Oversee field activities such as site investigations, groundwater and soil sampling, and remediation action implementation.
  • Mentor junior staff and provide QA/QC for project documentation.
Qualifications
  • Active LSRP license in the State of New Jersey.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in environmental science, Geology, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 8-12 years of industry experience in environmental site assessment and remediation.
  • Demonstrated experience managing NJDEP-regulated projects.
  • Strong knowledge of NJDEP Technical Requirements for Site Remediation (Tech Regs) and guidance documents.
  • Excellent project management, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Advanced technical capabilities and familiarity with NJFEP remediation and program requirements.
  • Strong technical report writing and budget management.
  • Developed time management and collaborative, mission-driven teamwork skills.
