Madison Regional Health System is seeking a part‑time Paramedic to be a part of the Madison Regional Health System mission:

Our Paramedic is an essential part of our Ambulance team and is responsible under the direction and supervision of the Emergency Department Physician and Unit Director for providing high quality patient care according to established standards of performance. The Paramedic collects patient health data from patient, referring caregivers and EMR, analyzes the assessment data in determining diagnoses/problem, identifies expected outcomes/goals individualized to the patient, develops a plan of care that prescribes interventions to attain expected outcomes, implements the interventions identified in the plan of care, and performs required documentation and participates in quality control.
Excellent customer service, attention to detail, the ability to multi‑task in pressure/stressful situations, and critical thinking skills are essential. South Dakota EMT‑Paramedic license and CPR certification is required.
Paramedic will work in our ER and EMS departments. This individual will work 12‑hour shifts covering the emergency room and the ambulance service. Madison Regional Health System uses a shift rotation to support a work‑life balance, including day, weekend, evening, and holiday shifts. The individual will be responsible for a share of on‑call shifts as well.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, use fine motor skills, talk and hear; frequently walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; occasionally sit and climb. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Exposure to infectious disease, body fluids, odors, and dust is expected. Will be working with a variety of medical equipment including, but not limited to: defibrillator/cardioversion equipment, suction equipment, IV pumps, chest tubes, feeding pumps, and portable cardiac monitors.
Full‑time positions come with Madison Regional Health System's benefits package and a competitive salary. MRHS offers retention pay to individuals who have worked at the facility for greater than one year. Madison Regional Health System employees receive a discount at the on‑site cafeteria. Shift differential occurs 6pm‑6am Monday‑Friday, weekends, and holidays. Cell reimbursement is an additional benefit for this position.
