This is a temporary internship at BDO USA, located in Madison, WI. BDO is a company that provides assurance, tax, and advisory services to clients across the U.S. and globally, and they are seeking energetic self-starters who can think like entrepreneurs. This role matters because it offers interns a unique hands-on perspective on the firm’s practices and people, allowing them to gain experience, forge critical relationships, and contribute to client success by assisting in problem-solving and fact-finding.
Interns will work alongside experienced team members, receiving direction, coaching, and learning opportunities.

- Mission:
Assist in problem solving and fact‑finding, contributing to client growth and confidence through assurance services. - Tech Stack:
Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Participate:
Engage in a structured on-the-job training program to become familiar with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Generally Accepted Auditing Standards. - Support:
Become familiar with BDO’s specific audit methodology to assist with various stages of the audit process. - Assist:
Provide various support functions to the audit staff during engagement activities. - Communicate:
Interact with clients’ customers, creditors, banks, and related parties concerning audit issues. - Document:
Prepare and organize work in working papers using BDO specific tools and templates.
- Background:
Enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Accounting, with an entry-level career focus. - Experience:
No prior professional experience required. - Skills:
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. - Bonus:
Pursuing a Master’s degree in Accounting; leadership experience; actively pursuing school credits to become a CPA; strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to follow instructions as directed; ability to work effectively in a team setting; positive attitude and willingness to learn.
