• Salary up to $16.00 per hour

• Assist the public with collections and services at the Library Reference Desk
• Provide research assistance via email, telephone, and in-person inquiries
• Support Reference Librarians with various clerical projects
• Address customer complaints and inquiries in a timely and courteous manner
• Learn and utilize current reference databases to assist a diverse audience

• Current UW graduate student or advanced undergraduate with a work-study award
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team setting
• Attention to detail and ability to multitask
• Familiarity with office methods and software, including word processing

• Interest in historical research and public services
• Experience in customer service or library settings
• Knowledge of current reference databases
