The hiring salary typically is between $78,994 and $90,560 p/year.
State Salary Group A14. Salary will be determined by experience and qualifications.
Facilitates and oversees all administrative aspects of the House Research Organization (HRO) office. All work performed under the direct supervision of the House Research Organization manager.
Responsibilities- Assists in coordinating and managing daily HRO office operations.
- Responsible for maintaining documents and files, scheduling, supply inventory and management, and processes for printing and archiving HRO publications.
- Manages key processes for hiring, onboarding, and training HRO staff.
- Coordinates steering committee meetings and communications.
- Engages in significant interaction with House offices and departments, both by phone and in person.
- During legislative sessions, helps manage staff assignments and assists with production of the Daily Floor Report.
- Provides research support as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience
The preferred candidate will have state legislative, administrative, and clerical experience and be skilled in organization, time management, and interpersonal communication.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- General knowledge of state government policies and procedures preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with members, staff, and the public.
- Skill in the use of computer, applicable software, and desktop applications.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment.
- Must be able to meet strict deadlines.
- Must have flexibility to work extended hours, including early mornings, and weekends when the legislature is in session and when otherwise required.
- Must be able to work in the office. This is not a remote position.
- Must adhere to department dress code and demonstrate the ability to follow all policies and procedures as set forth in the House of Representatives Personnel Manual of Policies & Procedures.
