Outreach Program Coordinator

The Outreach Program Coordinator provides administrative, operational, and project coordination support for two statewide workforce development initiatives housed within the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute (UWPHI):
Wisconsin's Rural Health Transformation Program (RHTP) Community Health Worker (CHW) workforce initiatives. Working closely with program leadership and operations staff, this position supports the day-to-day implementation of statewide programs that strengthen Wisconsin's public health and community health workforce. Responsibilities include project tracking, meeting and event coordination, documentation management, reporting support, communications, and operational systems that enable successful implementation of CHW workforce, technical assistance, evaluation, and sustainability activities.

This position helps ensure that administrative and operational functions are organized, responsive, and aligned with Community Health Worker values, while reducing administrative burdens on program staff, CHWs, contractors, and partner organizations. The position is based at UWPHI within the School of Medicine and Public Health and may require occasional statewide travel.

  • Knowledge of Community Health Worker (CHW) values, roles, and workforce development efforts.
  • Knowledge of project coordination and administrative support practices.
  • Knowledge of grant-funded program operations and documentation requirements.
  • Knowledge of meeting coordination, event planning, and stakeholder engagement processes.
  • Knowledge of office technology, project tracking, and organizational systems.
  • Knowledge of higher education, nonprofit, healthcare, public health, or community-based program environments.

Skills

  • Skill in coordinating multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Skill in maintaining organized documentation systems and operational records.
  • Skill in managing calendars, meetings, schedules, and event logistics.
  • Skill in spreadsheet management, data tracking, and reporting support.
  • Skill in preparing professional documents, meeting materials, and communications.
  • Skill in collaborative problem-solving and customer service.
  • Skill in using Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Zoom, Teams, and shared document platforms.

  • Ability to create and maintain organized tracking and documentation systems.
