Join Friends of Kaleem Caire for Mayor as our Candidate Engagement Coordinator
Our campaign's vision is to make Madison the best mid-size city in America to live, learn, work, and thrive, for everyone. We are building it on four pillars:
Affordable, Healthy, Prosperous, and Together.
We are looking for a dependable, personable person to work alongside the candidate at events across the city. You will make sure every event, meeting, and appearance runs smoothly. You do not need to know everything about campaigns. You do need to be observant, comfortable with people, and ready to jump in wherever needed.
- Part-time campaign position, 10 to 15 hours per week
- $18 per hour
- Reports to the Campaign Manager
- Madison, Wisconsin, on-site
- Evenings and weekends, often on short notice
What you'll do
- Attend events, meetings, and community gatherings with the candidate and help him stay on schedule and prepared
- Coordinate arrival, departure, parking, and other event logistics
- Arrive early to set up, run sign-in tables, greet attendees, and collect contact information
- Distribute literature, buttons, and signs, and help with photos, introductions, and speaking order
- Clean up and return materials after events, and keep campaign supplies organized
- Track event contacts and follow-up needs, and communicate with hosts and volunteers
- Spot logistical problems early and fix them before they grow
What we're looking for
- Extremely reliable, organized, and detail-oriented
- Friendly, professional, and approachable with the candidate and the public
- Calm and flexible when plans change
- Discreet, with good communication skills
- Comfortable with a smartphone, email, Google Calendar, and basic digital tools
- Campaign, event, hospitality, nonprofit, or administrative experience is helpful but not required
The right person naturally asks: what does the candidate need next?
Work requirements: frequent public events, which can involve standing, walking, carrying materials, setting up tables and signs, and travel throughout Madison.
