The Position:

Assist with daily heavy civil construction operations, including earthwork, utilities, grading, and site development.

Learn and promote proper safety procedures, and help monitor compliance with OSHA and company standards.

Shadow the Superintendent in working with the Operations Manager and HR on employee relations matters.

Support equipment coordination and pre-job planning to help ensure appropriate resources are allocated to the job site.

Help verify foreman-reported installed quantities against hours from timecards.

Observe and assist in troubleshooting field construction issues in collaboration with Project Management to keep projects on schedule and within budget.

Develop a working understanding of plans, specifications, and standard practices for heavy civil work.

Build professional relationships with Owners, General Contractors, and Subcontractors.

Assist with the training and onboarding of field crew personnel under supervision.

Support Project Managers with scheduling, cost control, and change order documentation.

Requirements:

Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.

Basic knowledge of, or coursework related to, earthwork, underground utilities, grading, and site construction operations.

Self-starter and ability to work independently.

Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
