Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist

Location: Shorewood Behavioral Health Hospital, 2335 City View Dr, Madison, WI 53718

Shorewood Behavioral Health Hospital is a brand-new, 120-bed acute care facility in Madison, WI, specializing in comprehensive psychiatric care for adolescents, adults, and seniors with mental health and substance use challenges. The hospital offers Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP), Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP), Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT), and will develop specialized programs to meet community needs.

Position: Full-Time, Inpatient Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist

The Inpatient Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist will diagnose and treat mental illnesses through a combination of personal counseling (psychotherapy), psychoanalysis, hospitalization, and/or medication.

• Provide clinical services to patients at the facility.
• Practice within medical protocols defined by federal and state regulations, corporate, facility policy or procedures.
• Review medical information on patients to ensure medical stability and offer medical recommendations.
• Evaluate patients for mental, emotional or behavioral disorders.
• Treat or direct treatment of patients, utilizing a variety of psychotherapeutic methods and medications.
• Review and complete medical information for individual care plans, document services and information in a timely manner.
• Maintain confidential documentation, compliance and billing in accordance with policy and procedures.

• Doctoral degree in Medicine (MD or DO) required.
• One or more years’ post-graduate degree practice preferred.
• Licensed in the state in which the facility operates.

• Board certification or Board Eligibility in Psychiatry required.
• Current DEA credentials to prescribe controlled substances without restrictions and per regulation within the state in which the practitioner will be working.
