Purpose
The Purpose Of This Pool Is To Develop a Group Of Interested Candidates Who Are Available And Interested In Our Pupil Services/Student And Staff Support Positions. MMSD Is Hiring For The Following Substitute Student Services Positions

Through the provision of direct and indirect services, at both the student and systems level, these positions actively engages their school community in the closing of opportunity and attainment gaps and works to ensure that all students and families experience safe, welcoming, learning environments and positive interpersonal relationships
Essential Duties
MMSD Substitute Student Services Staff function in the role of the regular contracted staff member while covering in that building. For full job descriptions, please refer to this document .
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree or higher in the content field you are applying for.
- Hold an active school license in the field of you are applying for with the WI Dept of Public Instruction - WI DPI Pupil Service website link
- Fluency in English and Spanish and/or Hmong
High Expectations For Every Student
- Substitute staff should demonstrate through actions and words that every student can achieve high standards.
- Substitute staff should share a commitment to excellence and equity for all students.
- Substitute staff should follow provided lessons, and support student growth in mastery of content.
- Substitute staff should provide necessary support (scaffolds, interventions, etc.) to meet a range of learning needs and support an inclusive learning environment.
- Substitute staff should understand and articulate the systems and beliefs that may lead to inequitable outcomes for learners of color as well as adapt instruction to meet the needs of each student.
- Substitute staff should make links between content and student experiences, perspectives, and personal goals.
- Substitute staff should use data beyond standardized assessments to diagnose student learning needs and differentiate instruction in the classroom. (
- Teachers should collaborate with peers to reflect on student achievement and teacher practice data to continuously plan and improve instruction.
- Substitute staff should take initiative to build relationships with students.
- Substitute staff should understand unique family characteristics and find ways to engage families as full partners in their children's education.
- Substitute staff should find challenges exciting and persist in the face of challenges.
- Substitute staff should reflect on strengths and growth areas regularly as well as seek mentors to improve.
