Position: ADJUNCT INSTRUCTOR – MATH (GENERAL CALL)

Overview

ADJUNCT INSTRUCTOR – MATH (GENERAL CALL)

Edgewood University invites applications for adjunct instructors to develop and/or teach graduate-level mathematics courses for returning adult secondary mathematics teachers seeking to become qualified to teach dual-enrollment math classes. Courses are planned as 8-week, online offerings. Candidates with specialties in any mathematical subfield are welcome, with emphasis in the areas of analysis, number theory, or abstract algebra.

Responsibilities
  • The faculty member will cooperate with the online design team to design courses and implement teaching strategies that facilitate student engagement and success with mathematics.
  • Contributions to department-wide assessment reports are expected.
Job Qualifications
  • A Ph.D. in Mathematics is required
  • Experience teaching in a higher-education setting is preferred
  • Experience teaching in an online or blended setting is preferred
Required Knowledge And Skills
  • An enthusiastic, reflective approach to teaching.
  • Ability to engage adult students in developing the skills, attitudes, and knowledge needed to reach their learning goals.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with department colleagues and others on campus.
  • Proficiency in the use of technology, such as learning management systems and online homework platforms.
