The Puerto Rican Studies Hub (PRSH) is an initiative that seeks to foster collaborations between Puerto Rico and its diaspora. We envision PRSH as a fertile ground for innovative partnerships and a site for emerging and groundbreaking modes of knowledge production.
Responsibilities- Assist with PRSH programming.
- Participate in weekly Solidarity Ecosystem meetings with other fellows.
- Meet biweekly with a faculty mentor to support scholarly productivity.
- Teach one Puerto Rican Studies‑focused course during the second year of the fellowship.
- Postdoctoral fellows should focus on the applicant’s own learning and research, primarily benefiting the applicant’s learning program.
- Tasks assigned must be necessary, relevant, and not repetitive beyond what is needed for excellence.
- Stipends are fully taxable, and fellows may be required to pay estimated taxes quarterly.
- Year 1: $80,000
- Year 2: $82,400
- PhD earned within the last five years from an accredited institution.
- Active engagement in Puerto Rican Studies and a commitment to scholarly production in the field.
- Research that can explore themes such as disability, environment, debt, corruption, cultural sustainability, community development, digital storytelling, and/or Black Puerto Rico studies.
- Statement of Interest (2 pages maximum, single‑spaced).
- Postdoctoral Project Narrative (3 pages maximum).
- Curriculum Vitae.
- One‑page course proposal focused on Puerto Rican Studies.
- Contact information for three potential references.
