Spanish & Portuguese Postdoctoral Fellow in Puerto Rican Studies
Apply for the Spanish & Portuguese Postdoctoral Fellow in Puerto Rican Studies role at UW‑Madison College of Letters & Science.
Job SummaryThe Puerto Rican Studies Hub (PRSH) is an initiative that seeks to foster collaborations between Puerto Rico and its diaspora. It brings together a range of voices and intellectual ecosystems to promote innovation in Puerto Rican Studies through fellowships, workshops, symposia, the arts, and lecture series. Located in the Midwest, PRSH will decenter traditional spaces and expand the field at regional, national, and transnational scales.
Fellows will work on their scholarly projects while actively participating in UW‑Madison’s vibrant intellectual communities.

- Participate in biweekly one‑on‑one meetings with a faculty mentor to focus on scholarly productivity.
- Teach an undergraduate course in Spanish literature or cultural studies at the 400‑level during the second year of the fellowship.
Appointments as postdoctoral fellows are intended primarily for the benefit of the appointee’s learning and research. Duties should be independent or self‑directed under faculty supervision.
