Achievement Connections is an Ameri Corps program with five math tutoring centers at local high schools. Led by Ameri Corps members serving 10-month terms, these centers provide one-on-one support to students in Algebra 1 and Geometry, aiming to improve academic achievement and graduation rates.
Position Details- Title: Ameri Corps Member - Tutor Coordinator & Math Tutor
- Supervisor: Program Director
- Service Start Date: August 18, 2025
- Service End Date: June 12, 2026
- Identify tutoring needs with school staff
- Coordinate scheduling and student-tutor matching
- Recruit, train, and support tutors
- Track hours and report data
- Evaluate tutoring success and incorporate feedback
- Tutor students in Algebra and Geometry
- Support classroom instruction
- Prepare tutoring resources
- Participate in orientation and training
- Attend team meetings and trainings
- Engage in community service and networking opportunities
- Effective team and partnership skills
- Ability to build relationships with students and staff
- Adaptability and problem-solving skills
- Strong time management and multitasking skills
- Willingness to learn and develop professionally
- Must be 18+, U.S. citizen or permanent resident, pass background check
- Hours:
Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm - Full-time and part-time options
