SummaryConnect Search is hiring a Senior Mechanical Engineer in Madison.
Responsibilities- Design and develop custom automation systems, including mechanical components, machinery, and integrated solutions tailored to client needs.
- Manage all phases of automation projects, including planning, execution, monitoring, and closure, while adhering to scope, schedule, and budget constraints.
- Collaborate with engineering teams, clients, and stakeholders to define project requirements, specifications, and deliverables.
- Perform technical analysis, simulations, and testing to ensure system reliability, efficiency, and compliance with industry standards.
- Oversee procurement of materials, equipment, and third-party services, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness.
- Coordinate with manufacturing, electrical, and software teams to integrate mechanical designs with control systems and automation software.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other engineers and team members.
- Prepare detailed project documentation, including design drawings, reports, and user manuals.
- Identify and mitigate project risks, resolving issues promptly to maintain progress and client satisfaction.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and environmental guidelines.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical design, automation, or manufacturing engineering.
- 2+ years of project management experience, preferably in custom automation, machinery, or robotics projects.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., Solid Works, AutoCAD) and engineering simulation tools.
- Strong understanding of automation technologies, including robotics, PLCs, and control systems.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, with excellent organizational and leadership skills.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for client and team collaboration.
- PMP certification or similar project management credential is a plus.
- Knowledge of Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies is an advantage.
- Occasional travel to client sites or vendor locations may be required.
