Position Overview
The Staff Engineer, Process Development & Automation will play a pivotal role in Exact Sciences’ expansion and transformation of its histopathology laboratory portfolio, including the launch of a new greenfield lab in Madison, WI, alongside established labs in Redwood City, CA and Phoenix, AZ. This position partners closely with Preanalytical Engineering (PAE) technical leaders to develop and implement cutting-edge automation and digital pathology technologies across all histopathology sites.
The Staff Engineer will gain deep, site-specific insight into Madison’s histopathology workflows, collaborating with laboratory leaders to understand operational needs and drive automation tailored to the new lab. Acting as a technical lead for assigned projects, the Staff Engineer will support initiatives such as LIMS and IT systems integration, equipment performance assessment, validation, and ongoing sustainment. This role will engage directly with users to address change management and user adoption challenges, ensuring successful technology implementation and continuous improvement.
The Staff Engineer will also partner with the ESI service organization to transfer critical site-specific knowledge for long-term sustainment and support
Essential Duties
