Primary Responsibilities- Define and drive design assurance and reliability requirements to meet customer expectations through the product life cycle.
- Provide reliability engineering as part of a business operations/production and cross‑functional product support team.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to establish reliability plans and verification testing requirements.
- Create reliability improvement plans by reviewing past product warranty claims and call‑center data to mitigate field losses.
- Integrate reliability analysis techniques into product or program design objectives.
- Conduct effective Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Fault Tree Analysis.
- Generate test plans and work with test lab technicians to evaluate products and components.
- Failure rates, modes, and mechanisms for robust product design.
- Identify and resolve reliability problems in existing products; develop, test, implement, and track solutions.
- Analyze warranty and call‑center data to establish trends and determine root causes, then recommend corrective actions.
- Work with service personnel to identify field problems and implement solutions.
- Collaborate with purchasing and component suppliers to drive reliability improvement in purchased components.
- Partner with Quality Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering to identify in‑house problems and support reliability initiatives and continuous improvement.
- Experience in Engineering (Design, Reliability, or Quality).
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical engineering.
- Minimum 2 years of on‑the‑job experience or full‑time role.
- Experience in the appliance industry or mass‑produced consumer products.
- ASQ CRE (Certified Reliability Engineer) certification or willingness to obtain certification.
- Experience with field failure/warranty data analysis and tracking.
- Proficiency with statistics and reliability analysis techniques such as Weibull analysis, Reliability Block Diagrams, FMEAs, Derating, and Reliability Allocation.
- Failure analysis, diagnosis, or troubleshooting skills.
- National Instruments LabVIEW.
- Design of Experiments.
- HALT/HASS and accelerated life testing.
- Electrical circuit reliability.
- Gas system reliability.
