The Opportunity
Tetra Tech has two environmental technician openings based out of our McClellan, CA office. The environmental technicians will provide support on large public utility construction projects and environmental restoration projects throughout California. Must be a US citizen due to the clients we serve.
Your Role- Perform environmental tailgate briefings to construction crews.
- Coordinate and perform environmental soil and water sampling.
- Organize sampling documentation.
- Effectively communicate field activities with the Project Manager and subcontractors.
- Work within quality/budget/schedule expectations.
- Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, legislation, and industry standards.
- Pursue continuous professional development and maintain a high degree of discipline, knowledge and awareness.
- Work in a safe manner at all times and report all health and safety incidents and concerns.
- Additional duties as required.
The salary range for this position is $27 to $32/hour. Please note that Tetra Tech considers various factors in determining pay, including but not limited to: education, relevant and demonstrated work experience in the role, skills, geographic location, qualifications, certifications, and other competencies relevant to the needs of the business.

Qualifications- Attention to detail on paperwork is required.
- Candidate must be able and available to travel throughout California >75% of the time.
- Must possess a valid driver's license in good standing.
- Preference given to 40-hour HAZWOPER certification with current 8-hour refresher.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required. AA or bachelor's degree in environmental science or related field is a plus.
- 1+ years of experience as an environmental field technician or related experience is preferred.
This position requires the candidate to be a U.S. Citizen due to the projects they will be working on.
If this position requires a CAC card, CUI Enclave Access and/or a Security Clearance, a background check will be completed.
