The Public Service Commission of Wisconsin (PSC) is currently recruiting for an Environmental Analysis and Review Specialist(Entry or Advanced) to join our team in the Division of Digital Access, Consumer and Environmental Affairs.
The PSC is an independent state agency that is responsible for regulating more than 1,100 Wisconsin public utilities, which provide electric, natural gas, combined water and sewer utilities, and certain aspects of local telephone service to households and businesses throughout the state! The PSC of Wisconsin ensures safe, reliable, affordable, and environmentally responsible utility services and equitable access to telecommunications and broadband services.
This position offers a hybridized work schedule. This schedule may change based on operational needs and organizational requirements. The position is headquartered at the Hill Farms State Office Building in Madison, WI. This position will be required to come into the office for scheduled in-person work days, training, meetings and/or operational needs.
Employees will be generally expected to telework from within the State of Wisconsin.

The Environmental Analysis and Review Specialist position analyzes the environmental impacts of utility proposals that may be controversial and makes recommendations regarding the need for further environmental review. The position focuses on impacts to the biological and physical environment. It coordinates environmental reviews with Commission staff as well as other agencies. In addition, this position is responsible for assisting in the streamlining and improvement of the environmental review processes.
The work products provide a basis for Commission decisions ultimately affecting all or some portion of Wisconsin ratepayers and the state’s physical and biological environment (e.g., as a result of the biological impacts from transmission lines, pipelines, and wind and solar facilities). This work can influence utility construction practices and routing policies for the entire state. Work may also influence state legislation and current, unresolved issues at a regional and national level.
SalaryInformation
The Environmental Analysis and Review Specialist(Entry) position is in schedule-range (15-04) with anannual salary of $55,640-$66,414, plus excellent benefits.
The Environmental Analysis and Review Specialist– Advanced position is in schedule-range (15-03) with anannual salary of $66,414-$85,696, plus excellent benefits.
