• Develop and coach employees to provide amazing client experiences.
• Follow up swiftly on client concerns and issues.
• Consistently set a positive example and demonstrate a calm demeanor during periods of high volume.
• Demonstrate a client‑first attitude by holding team members accountable for quality client service.
• Drive company metrics by developing action plans and directly motivating and instructing the salon team through company programs.
• Manage with integrity and honesty and promote the culture, values, and mission of Sun Tan City.
• Plan, identify, communicate, and delegate responsibilities to team members to ensure smooth flow of operations.
• Be directly responsible for the cleanliness, maintenance, sanitation, and organization of the salon.
• Manage salon staffing levels to ensure employee development and maintain salon operational requirements.
• Adhere to applicable wage and hour laws for non‑exempt team members and minors.
• Use all operational tools to plan for and achieve operational excellence in the salon (labor guidelines, reports, cash management, and inventory management).
• Utilize financial reports to identify and address trends and issues in salon performance.
• Regularly conduct performance assessments, providing feedback and setting challenging goals to improve sales performance.
• Manage ongoing sales.
• The Salon Director in Training is required to work 35‑40 hours per week.
• The Salon Director in Training is required to work a varying number of mid and/or closing shifts each week as determined by supervisors based on business trends and staffing needs.

• College education preferred, but not required.
• Management and/or sales experience required.
• Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Ability to manage effectively in a fast‑paced environment, managing multiple situations simultaneously.
• Strong knowledge of client service techniques and operational practices.
• Strong problem‑solving and organization/planning skills.
• Strong leadership skills, with the ability to coach and mentor while applying supervisory practices and procedures.
• Team building skills.
• Ability to prioritize and delegate.

• Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.
• Ability to bend at the waist to clean tanning equipment.
• Ability to lift or assist in lifting items and heavy boxes.
  
  Ability to bend down to pick up trash, towels, etc. from the floors.
• Ability to perform salon cleaning functions including dusting, sweeping, mopping, and scrubbing.
