As the Activities Director, you will be the creative heartbeat of our facility, responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing a comprehensive therapeutic activities program that meets the physical, mental, and psycho-social needs of our residents.
Key Responsibilities- Program Development:
Develop, schedule, and lead an activity program that is both sufficiently diverse and sensitive to our resident’s needs, offering a blend of group and individual activities. - Individualized Planning:
Determine individual resident interests and expectations regarding preferred programming through regular, meaningful interaction. - Assessment and Care Planning:
Conduct assessments to ascertain the physical, cognitive, and emotional abilities, needs, and backgrounds of each resident, and document these findings in the resident's comprehensive care plan. - Team Leadership:
Supervise, mentor, and participate in events alongside department staff, delegating tasks effectively to ensure all programs run smoothly and safely. - Budget Management:
Manage the departmental budget effectively, ensuring all necessary supplies and resources are available to provide high-quality programming. - Community Integration:
Organize and facilitate trips, outings, and visits from community groups to ensure residents maintain connections outside the facility. - Documentation and Compliance:
Maintain meticulous attendance records, program participation logs, and activity reports in compliance with state, federal, and facility regulations. - Other duties as assigned by the Administrator, contributing to the overall excellent quality of life for our residents.
- Prior experience managing staff and leading a department is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively and creatively, both independently and as part of a group.
- Basic computer knowledge for documentation, scheduling, and communication.
- Long-Term Care Activities/Recreations Experience is required. We need someone who understands the rhythm and regulations of skilled nursing.

- Certified Recreational Activity Specialist (CRA) OR
- Activities Director Certified (ADC) OR
- Other state-recognized certification/license for Activities Director in a long‑term care setting.
