IT Project Manager (Contract) – Carex Consulting Group

Location: Madison, WI (Hybrid)

Duration: Contract (with potential extension)

W2 only, no C2C, must be authorized to work in the US (both now and in the future).

We’re partnering with a Biotech leader to bring on an experienced IT Project Manager who will lead low- to medium-complexity projects supporting critical business and technology initiatives. This role is perfect for a collaborative, detail-oriented PM who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working cross-functionally to drive projects from concept to completion.

• Plan, manage, and execute low- to medium-complexity IT and corporate projects.
• Lead project teams and drive decision-making while acting as a key problem solver.
• Identify and manage project deliverables, milestones, schedules, and resources.
• Prepare and maintain project plans, status reports, and required documentation.
• Create and manage project budgets and ensure alignment with objectives.

• Consult with management and review project proposals to define scope and goals.
• Keep leadership, team members, and business partners informed of progress and issues.
• Manage stakeholder expectations and translate complex technical concepts into clear, business-friendly communications.

• Manage project scope, requirements, risks, and issues using established PM methodologies.
• Oversee change requests, ensure alignment with original specifications, and monitor results against standards.
• Prepare projects for governance gate approvals and ensure delivery of all PM artifacts.
• Allocate team responsibilities, plan resource needs, and supervise work.

• Build strong relationships with stakeholders and collaborate on cross-functional project dependencies.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and creative solutions.
• Provide leadership, motivation, and clear direction throughout the project lifecycle.

• Support Exact Sciences’ mission, values, and Quality Management System.
• Maintain reliable attendance and model an inclusion-focused mindset.
• Ability to travel locally between Exact Sciences sites and up to 5% travel nationally.

• Bachelor’s degree OR HS diploma/GED + 4 years of relevant PM experience.
• 5+ years of experience as a Project Manager in IT or business functions.
• Demonstrated success leading high-performance teams and multiple simultaneous projects.
• Strong strategic thinking, relationship management, and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard PM tools.
• Ability to grasp and communicate technical concepts effectively.
• Authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

• Experience leading software development projects using Agile methodologies.
• PMI PMP or related project management certification.
